4) How We Use Information
We use information for the following purposes:
- Client Intake & Services: evaluate potential matters, conduct conflicts checks, communicate with you, schedule consultations, and—if retained—provide legal services.
- Operations: maintain and improve the Site, troubleshoot, protect against fraud/abuse, secure our systems, and comply with ethics rules.
- Analytics: measure traffic and understand how visitors use our Site to improve content and usability.

5) Legal Bases (for visitors in the EEA/UK)
Where applicable, we process personal data based on: consent, contract, legitimate interests (e.g., site security, basic analytics, client intake), and legal obligations.
6) How We Share Information
We share information only as needed and as permitted by law:
- Service Providers/Processors: website host, email/SMS and call vendors, CRM/intake tools, cloud/document storage, analytics providers, and IT/security vendors—bound by confidentiality and data-processing terms.
- Co-Counsel/Experts/Vendors: only with your knowledge/authorization and subject to appropriate confidentiality where required.
- Legal/Ethics Compliance: regulators, courts, law enforcement, or opposing parties as required by law or to protect our rights.
- Business Changes: in connection with a merger, reorganization, or similar event (subject to appropriate safeguards).
We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined by certain U.S. state laws. If our practices change, we will update this Policy and provide required opt-out mechanisms.
7) Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to accomplish the purposes described above, comply with legal/ethical obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. For client matters, we follow applicable rules and our internal retention schedules.
8) Cookies & Analytics
A. Types of Cookies We May Use
- Strictly Necessary: enable core functionality (security, load balancing, session management).
- Functional/Performance: remember preferences and improve site performance.
- Analytics/Measurement: help us understand traffic and usage (e.g., page views, time on page). We currently use privacy-conscious configurations and do not enable advertising features.
B. Managing Cookies
Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Doing so may affect site functionality. You can also use built-in browser tools and platform controls (e.g., Google’s opt-out add-on for Analytics, if applicable). We honor applicable consent/choice signals where required by law.
Do Not Track: At this time, we do not respond to DNT signals due to a lack of uniform standards.
9) Communications & SMS
By providing a phone number and selecting opt-in (where presented), you agree to receive calls or text messages from JAM Law related to your inquiry. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP (texts) or following unsubscribe instructions (emails). Opting out may limit our ability to contact you about your matter.
10) Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If we believe the security of your information has been compromised, we will act in accordance with applicable laws and professional obligations.
